Just created an account on tangled.sh after reading the "Open Social" by @danabra.mov. AT Proto is a stunning thing. I hope that we will see more apps based on it.

Thinking about rebuilding @val.town / @smallweb.run on top of atproto, with an architecture inspired by @tangled.org. Every user can bring it's own runner, but the there is a federated appview for social stuffs (likes, follow, ect...).

impetus: woke up to a barrage of notifications, probably people learning about @tangled.org from my Open Social post!

a lot of notifications
you know what, i'ma move overreacted repo to tangled. wish me luck

dolly is now on git-scm.com! 🐑💙

tangled, radicle, github, gitlab, codeberg, forgejo, azure repos, gerrit, gitea and sourcehut logos

it’s tangled.org actually innovates on the atproto shape - uses self-hostable headless git servers called knots for the actual git hosting, but the identity and social layer is atproto, and much like bluesky you can just ignore all that if you want to and use their hosting like it’s github

If you’re so new to tech that you didn’t know Microsoft owns these things then you’re also too new to tech to have a negative impression of Microsoft as a developer.

“Like with open source, open social is a compounding effort. Every mildly successful open social app lifts all open social apps. Every piece of shared infrastructure can benefit somebody else. At some point, open is bound to win.”
